Not all of us have a different pair of trail runners shelved in our cavernous walk-in closets for every kind of terrain and weather. Fortunately, The North Face engineered the all-purpose Men's Betasso Trail Running Shoe for the rank and file, muddy-and-grinning trail runner with barely enough space in his apartment for a dachshund and a potted plant. Breathe easy through the ventilating lightweight mesh while the harness stabilizer and medial heel post protect your foot's natural stride path. The North Face Betasso's featherweight UltrATAC rubber outsole grinds through the muck like a Sherman tank on uppers without sacrificing the trifecta of comfort delivered by a Northotic foot bed, tri-density EVA midsole and X2-O2 heel cushioning.

Throw any type of terrain its way and The North Face lightweight Betasso trail runner will happily oblige, offering durability and stability.

Great runners! | |

| True to it's name these are trail running shoes! Up and down some wicked trails in the Sierra's for a couple of weeks, these performed very well.
We got caught in a late afternoon storm and I had no issue with slipping on wet rocks or grass. They got wet, but remailed stable and comfortable.
Great support and traction. Great for running up or down, dirt or rocks.
One issue is the build quality... they seem to be falling apart. Some of the logo's have fallen off (?), and the cushioning near the toe of one shoe seems to be flaking (?).
On top of all that, they are as comfortable and light as slippers.

| One word,...Sweet! their as comfortable as it gets. i have three pairs of shoes that cost over 100 bucks that aren't as comfortable as these. i've treked through swampy muck and muddy waters with no problems. if you plan on being outdoors in the spring, winter, and fall these are the shoes to get. they breathe so easily though that the only down side is cold feet in the winter, but that's the perk in the warmer temps. Enjoy | |

| I live in Minnesota and bought these during the winter. I ran on paths that were regularly covered in snow/ice and rarely slipped. Now I run primarily on roads and they are great for that but I know that when I feel like going on the trails I wont have a problem. Only problem I have is that my cats chewed up the laces and I can't seem to find replacement laces that are the right length. | |

| Light enough to race in (Stinson Beach 30K) and well made enough to last on long training runs on Mt. Diablo. I am very happy with these shoes which I got at the North Face Outlet in Berkeley. I'll be buying another pair from this site too. | |

| No need to break in. Just wear it after you receive it. Good looks and very comfortable. I use orthotics and this shoe fits me well with it inserted. Give it a try. | |
more stylish than functional

| I'm glad other people are liking this shoe. I've had problems with it. The front portion of the sole has come off of both shoes (within 2-3 months of use). I tried to glue it back, but that didn't fix it for very long. I like how sturdy the shoe feels while running, especially around the heal, I just hope the sole doesn't come completely off the front. | |
Bad Quality | |

| I was shocked at the poor quality when I received these. They looked like knock-offs just because of the stiching and misaligned paint. I wore these at work for a few months and the bottom began wearing away. Now the soles are flopping around. I will not buy North Face shoes again. | |

| Pretty good shoe. One makes a squeek when walking at times, very light weight and not expensive. I use these for the gym. | |
