Stellar Shoe! | |

I simply love Salomon shoes and boots, in my opinion their shoes and boots offer the best arch support on the market and my custom insoles fit great inside. I do question their laces however, my "quick" laces snapped on my XT wings (and I had to relace with normal laces) and my Revo laces snapped on my in the backcountry. It could be my fat cankles and I sweat a ton so I wear things out pretty quickly. No one else I've talked to have had their 3D or XT "quick laces" break on them and the revo's just used standard laces so I can replace those. Despite the lace problems I still love their shoes and boots (their Revo boot is the most comfortable and durable {sans the laces} boots I've ever worn), so I guess it shows how much I love the shoe since I've had some lace issues and I still always buy Salomon. A TON OF PEOPLE AT BACKCOUNTRY.COM WHERE SALOMONS WHEN WORKING IN THE WAREHOUSE AND ALMOST ALL OF THEM CITE THE COMFORT AND SUPPORT (can't be a coincidence that more than half the warehouse is rollin' in Salomons can it?).

Had these for a couple of months and couldn't be more impressed. The lace system is truly awesome and very convenient. My dog chewed one of my laces and I replaced it with some 200 lb. test twine that is nearly the same diameter and has worked out well. I've spent many long days in these both on trails and off. Great support and grip, contragrip flat out rocks in wet and dry conditions. From experience these dry fairly quickly while on the move and are quite light for the robustness of the design. Anti-debris mesh works nicely and no thorns have yet penetrated them. I wear an 11 US and these fit true to size as do all my Salomons.

Great Boot! Started out a little narrow but broke in perfectly after about 20 hours of use. Wore them almost exclusively on a trekk to Mt.Everest base camp, 125km. They're a year old now and I turned them into work boots about 6 months ago. I'm on concrete all night(airport) so the soles are wearing thin but overall, my Fastpackers are in great shape, inside and out. I clean them with "Simple-Green" and a scrub brush and they still look good enough to wear to the mall on Saturdays. Can't wait to break-in another pair...

This is my second pair of Salomon shoes, with the same single pull lacing system. These are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn - Salomon just seems to make a shoe that fits my foot shape to a tee, and as opposed to other single lacing shoes I've tried, these actually work! I can hike all day and not have to adjust them. Oh yeah, backcountry.com had the best price I could find anywhere.

great shoe I actually just bought my second pair, it is my everyday wear around shoe with more support than my running shoes, but not as much as my hikers. these are my 6th pair of salomons and the sole wears by far the best yet

despite its clear inspiration from our trail running range, especially for the outsole/midsole/chassis, this shoe isn't a trail running shoe. It is more for those who like to hike fast and light. For this, the 3D Fastpacker is amazing, doubtlessly the best in class.
