| Everything I hoped they would be and more - I bought these shoes because I love my Salomon Vertigo low-rise hikers except when on pebbly terrain...in that pair, the sole is flexible to the point that you can 'feel' small stones pushing up. These Salomon Fastpackers looked and sounded like they had everything I loved about the Vertigos, PLUS a sturdier, thicker sole. I was right! They are fantastic... still really flexible and great cushioning, but you can't feel stones. They gripped slickrock in Arizona really well and provide plenty of toe room. They look great on top of it, I got the greenish ones. Highly recommended for those of you who want the stability of a hiking boot and comfort of a sneaker, but don't like mid- or high-rise shoes like I don't. | |

| Another winner - Great shoe from Salomon, better tread for vertical running and climbing than the trail running shoes they offer. | |

| Fast Packer - Bought in spring but just starting wearing this winter because they retain heat. Not as comfy as Id like. The older I get it seems comfy shoes are one in a million. Bought my 1st pair of Salomons couple yrs ago (Exclaim) that were great but OF COURSE they were DISCONTINUED. Why couldn't they just update the design a bit? These just have a hard footbed. You cant add a thicker insole because the rubber toe guard doesnt allow enough room (low volume). My feet feel tired after an hour like all Salomons I've tried lately. The only reason I come back to salomons is that some styles have the narrow fit I need. The search goes on...and on...and on. | |
