Perfect from the first wear - This boot is soooo comfortable. The material is very soft, so there's no digging into the flesh or stiffness or discomfort at all. The heel is just right too; high enough to feel sexy and lifted, but low enough to afford a lot of comfortable walking around NYC. What's more, there was no period of adjustment with this boot. It was completely comfy from get go. As regard the wideness in the ankle others have mentioned, I didn't find it to be a problem as others mentioned but then again I have wider ankles too, and wear wide width. So I appreciate that the wide is wider throughout. It also easily accommodated my jeans being tucked inside. Overall great boot, worth the money.

The color was a little redder/richer than I would have expected in a brown, which made for a nice color. The toe was longer than I expected for the size. Although the shoe fit, the toe made the shoe look too big and I therefore did not like the look. I also have wide calves, and this boot didn't fit them. I would have expected a WW to accommodate my calves. The WW in the shoe was more like a W. The quality of the shoe looked good. I would recommend this shoes fit to someone who likes pointy toes, or whose feet are wide but not WW, and whose calves are only slighter larger than "normal." I would order one width wider than you normally wear.

Boots in a Hurry - I needed boots for a winter mainland funeral. Zappos' staff rerouted my shipment to a mainland address, and I greatly appreciate their help. These boots are just what I needed to face a mainland winter, stylish, comfortable, and durable. However, as others have said, the top of the boot really is smaller than measured. I shoved the boot down on my leg to get the zipper to fasten and then pulled the boot up. It seems to be stretching out and is easier to get on now. I'm keeping these as no one sells narrow shoes or boots in Hawaii. These are keepers.

Great dress boot - The good definitely outweighs the bad on this boot. My only complaint is that the leather is not the greatest quality. At first I thought they were plastic - they're a little shiny. Other than that, I love this boot! They were true to size, although the left calf fit a little tighter than the right (but that's not the fault of the boot!). They right fit like a dream. The heel height is perfect for walking, arch support is very good (and I have a high arch), SO comfortable, needed no breaking in. I would buy this one again (plastic or not!).

Great boot! I've been looking for a great riding boot for about a year now. Either the price was way too steep or the price was right but the quality suffered. I just bought these 4 days ago and they're wonderful. I have athletic calves (about 15in) so I was worried that they wouldn't work well with jeans tucked in. I decided to buy them in a 9 wide for the extra calf space and they work great! Fit somewhat loose around the foot and they're a little larger in the ankle than I would prefer but truly great versatile boots! Very comfortable too.

I have been looking for a lower heeled, tall shaft black boot with some style, and these seem to be the best, affordable choice at this point in the season. I didn't realize until I got them that they are not leather--they are completely synthetic. Not sure how they will wear. For those who found the shaft too wide, these boots do have come in a "wide calf" style as well, so perhaps you were shipped the wrong version. I think they are pretty attractive overall. Comfort is OK, though not as good as I expected.
Stylish biker & rock-and-roll boot. |

These boots are very nice looking. If you have big or muscular calves, go with the extended shaft. I ordered the plus shaft boot because I knew the regular/average boot probably would not fit my calves, due to the many years of step aerobics and leg weight machines. They just barely fit my calves. Also, I wish the glue around the edge of the top of the boots were better, they should have stitched it there instead. Overall, look good with a longer black skirt.

Not only am I thrilled by these boots, I'm also very impressed by the entire shopping process here! I'm way too busy to do the kind of shopping I want to do. These arrived today, even before the tracking info became available, and they're very pretty and very comfy. They work both with a skirt and with straight-leg jeans. If you like to look good, but also have a practical edge, these are good boots for you!

Nice looking boots, but too big around the ankle! I was so excited to order these boots, but unfortunately they did not fit well. The size felt bigger and even though I have 15" calves, they were too loose. Around the ankle area they look funny, too. I would suggest people buy a size smaller than their actual size and would only recommend to people with super wide calves and chubby ankles.

A great boot - Not as comfortable as my Dansko clogs, but pretty close. I don't think they are real leather, but rather the recently trendy vinyl. I've got some "nice boots" comments. If I didn't already have another pair of brown boots, I'd buy these in brown, too. Just a tad larger than "true to size," so I wear some thin wool socks, which makes them more comfortable.
