| Ecco Track 4 High Moc Toe - Review; ECCO Track IV (Track 4) High moc toe boots May 2007. I am a long time user of Ecco Track boots, had a pair of the original Track boots, which I did not get to wear to extinction since my feet changed sizes and had to give away. I now have two pair of Track 2 High boots. All 3 of these wore like iron and are extremely comfortable. I have had no problem with soles coming loose or wear on soles (in fact the boots I have used for years just barely show wear on the pebbly bottom most surface and the lugs are still full size!). For the moc toe version I did have the oldest pair stitched on the moc toe after a couple years. Cost $15 at a good shoe repair place. Stuff you probably already know; -These really are waterproof and breathable. -They are really comfortable and pretty much need no break-in. -If nothing goes wrong, they last and last. I decided it was time for a pair that was less beat up so I went to Zappos.com and found both the Track 2 and newer Track 4 were available. Since they have a great return policy, I ordered both pair to see what the difference was. -The moc toe in general is a bit wider in the toe box than the plain version. -The Track 4 seems to have a slightly wider toe box than the Track 2. -The Track 4 topmost eyelets are not as close together as the Track 2, so you if you have thin ankles you can tighten them up better. -The sole composition and resiliency seems to be the same. -Both pair now have a rubbery cushy liner as well as the nice Ecco leather footbed. This is so nice I have not had to remove the Ecco liner and replace it with The 2 oz. Miracle (which is a self molding footbed available at Target). It is slipperier than I am used to so I may still switch it out. The Track 4 seems to be a bit softer on top around the ankle. -The moc toe is different on the Track 4; it is kind of rolled over, smoother, and looks like it is stitched twice. | |

| Hi, At first I said to my mom,"They are to much money and I don"t even know if they will keep my feet warm." Well, I have had a pair of your boots for about 15 years. (first pair) Inside and outside for long periods of time. My feet are kept at a comfortable temperture no matter were I am. Cold as 0* outside in snow, rain, mudd and 72* inside, my feet stay the same, warm, (normal temperture) never sweaty. Even in the hot weather (95* ) hiking. They are like wearing slippers, I wear them about 10 to12 hours aday, 6 days a week. Only reason for buying new pair, had this pair resoled and now they weak, but even when my feet are wet they are still warm in the cold Chicago weather. I only wish that you made a pair with a steel toe for my freinds who work outside construction. And I would like Gore-tex in a lady's dress (winter) boot. Just ordered my second pair in the black boot style, nothing in my size for this boot style. Hope I will be just as happy with my new ones. | |

| Great boot - but... This is my second pair of New Track IV Highs. Great boot, great company, wear great, easy to clean, and way, way comfortable. I purchased them because they were dressy enough for work, and I wouldn't have to change into serious boots for walking two miles during lunch break - on the Atlantic City streets and boardwalk. After the winter season, I noticed cracks in the lugs on the soles, which would let in water if I wore them for another season. I took them to my artisan shoe repairman, a real pro, who said it was a factory defect. Zappos replaced them immediately - even though more than a year had passed! I expected a real hassle - but now I'm a lifetime Zappos customer. I'll see about this second pair - how the soles hold up - but I'm sure about Zappos customer service. | |

| Best feeling shoes I can remember ever having... I have very flat feet that hurt constantly. I wear prescription orthotics in place of the removable inserts in my shoes and they help a little...but most everything I buy ends up being miserable. I tried on these Eccos at a local department store and could not believe how good they felt but I really had a problem spending $200 for a pair of shoes. I finally decided to order them from Zappos because of the free shipping and I'm glad I did. I put them on and started wearing them all day with no break in period and I've never been able to do that before. My feet still hurt at the end of the day, but nothing like they used to. I'm sold on these shoes. | |

| Great hiker/workboot/snowboot - These are the most comfortable hiking/work boot I have ever owned. I have a pair of the Ecco Gore-Tex Lowcut (Track II) and figured I would give these a try. The first time I wore them was at scout camp (about 10 hrs). The width was a little snug at first, but they broke in quickly (I had wool hiking socks on). I have plantar fasciitis and this shoe preformed excellently. The arch support is great and the insoles are really soft. In fact, when my fasciitis flared up, I put these on and got immediate relief! I have also received many compliments on how good they look! As far as I'm concerned, these boots are worth every dollar! | |
The best hiking shoe around. | |

| This is my second pair. I bought my first pair in 1989. They finally fell apart but only after taking me through a safari in Africa, the jungles of Belize and the Yucatan, trekking through the Sonoran desert and a wild run up the Amazon. I immersed them and they dried quickly. I roasted them in desert heat and they stayed cool. The boots did everything a great outdoor shoe is expected to do but the comfort was comparable to my workout shoes. The old ones were good for 18 years. The fit of my new boots is the same as the old ones. So comfortable. Great quality and endurance. | |

| Well worth it! Great boot. It's comfortable, stylish, waterproof and the traction on slippery surfaces is very good. Initially I couldn't make up my mind between the Track IV and the Urban Flexor high. Because of Zappos return policy I decided to purchase both and return the loser. I've had both pairs for a month and have no intention of returning either. I use this boot for outdoor treks and Boy Scout campouts. Replaces LL Bean Mountain Treads...and how! | |

| These are quite simply the best shoes I have ever owned. I have had Red Wings, Rockys, Rockports, and others. I am a UPS driver and I typically work 10 hour days. I have flat feet and these really help. I had my last pair for over 2 years, but that was a bit long. My knees were starting to hurt. Now that I have my new Track IVs my knees are fine. | |

| I have tried many name brand shoes over the years but since my first pair of Eccos I have not looked at anything else. I have never found another shoe that is this comfortable right out of the box and they last so much longer than anything else I have tried. I have now owned about 10 pairs and don't anticipate ever buying any other brand. | |

| Best Boot I have ever owned - I have worn this boot for six years and bought another pair. I have worn it in the Seattle winter mud and rain and never has my feet gotten wet. I clean it up and it looks great for urban wear. Absolutely comfortable for walking because of its wide sole you cannot buy a better boot at any price. | |

| Not what I hoped for! I have gone through two pairs of the Track II boots in the last 8 years. They have been fantastic in nearly every way. They were lacking in arch support but were still extraordinarily comfortable while on my feet for 10+ hours a day. An unexpected bonus was that they are the most slip resistant shoes I've ever owned (I work in restaurant kitchens which are always wet and greasy). The only other negative was that the stitching around the toe area would begin to give out after a couple years - not a big deal, but the rest of the boot would still be in great condition. They even remained completely waterproof with the seams ripped open. When I recently decided it was time for a new pair I saw the new Track IV design and was hoping they would be more durable in the weak area of the Track II's. When I received them I immediately noticed they were not quite as comfortable and had even less arch support than what I experienced in the old boots. But the fit was still pretty good so I decided to keep them. After less than two weeks of wear they have already ripped out on one of the seams (not the stitching but the leather) and this isn't even in a high stress area compared to where I had the problem with the previous boots. At this point I'm waiting to hear from customer service about what they can do to resolve this for me. I'm hoping I can exchange them for the old model if it's available. I've been a huge fan of Ecco shoes for over ten years, but the quality and especially the comfort of their newer styles is nothing like it used to be. | |

| Sorry soles - I have purchased 2 pairs of the boot and at first I thought it was a fluke that the sole came apart on my first pair, but to my amazement my second pair also came apart all of the grip down to the rubber came off. I have never had a pair of shoes fall apart and I had - up to this point - never paid as much as I did for these shoes. I do not feel anyone should be stuck with a pair of these. | |

| Comfortable but bad craftsmanship - I have not even had these boots one year and have already sent them back for repair once and fixing to have to send them back again. The single stitching on the inside has come apart, first on the left boot and now on the right boot. Otherwise, very comfortable and great looking, but I can't justify the price for something that will barely last a year. | |
