Comfortable With a Few Minor Drawbacks - I've received compliments on this shoe, but I'm torn as to whether they look like orthopedic shoes from the 1970s. I don't care so much because they are comfortable. At first they seemed a bit tight or inflexible somehow. This seems to be going away. That said, the heel does slip, as Danskos do. The slipping doesn't chafe because (obviously) you have to wear socks with this shoe. However, the slipping occasionally makes a very, very subtle... purring... noise. So bear this in mind if you plan to wear them in a quiet environment.

These shoes were comfortable right out of the box, almost as if they were custom-made. I'm delighted with them. I had been afraid they might seem "clunky" and mannish, but they're definitely not. They are very cute, with the added bonus of making my feet look smaller! I particularly like the charcoal color, which is subtle and not harsh like a pure black might be. Note: I did order a half size larger than I usually wear, based on a few other people's reviews that this style runs a half size small.

I love Dansko - they're almost all I wear - but these just didn't feel good. They were a little big, but that wasn't the deal breaker. The real problem was the leather wasn't very soft or flexible and the exposed stitching around the top of the shoe chafed. They might have been o.k. after some break-in, but I don't buy Dansko to have to break them in. They're going back.

I love these boots. I am on my feet all day on concrete work surfaces and these boots are soooo comfortable you forget about your feet. The leather is very supple and the support is great. I get compliments on them all the time. I wear heavier socks with them but if you intend to wear thin socks you may want to consider a size smaller. Nice and roomy in width.

I was looking for an ankle boot that laced and was casual to wear with jeans. This boot met all criteria. The only thing I'm not totally happy with is the color. I suppose I also expected the boot to be a more supple leather but I can live with it as it pleases me in all other ways.

Super comfortable shoe! Fit perfectly with both thin and thick socks. Great for keeping my feet dry in the Seattle rain. Excellent arch support for the little-to-no-arch-type-feet like mine. Very good ankle support for stability with lots of toe room!
wonderful shoes, not your dad's chukkas |

since leather is thick, and my foot is a little narrow, it creaks, but that's going away as i break them in. still, i love how they look with jeans and pants.

Great, except heel slips - Fit was so comfortable when standing, but my heel slipped badly when walking. Hate to have to return them.
