I am impossible to fit with shoes - This shoe, which I bought for lessons in ballroom dancing, came close. I have very narrow heels and very high arches with little bottom padding on my feet. The narrow size of this shoe barely hugs my skinny heels, but the strap makes me feel pretty confident that I won't step out of them. I usually wear a 9-1/2 to 10 narrow shoe size and I purchased a 10 narrow, since a 10-1/2 was not available. Because there's minimal arch support for me, I found my feet went forward into the toe box and caused some pain. However, all in all, I did survive my first hour of dancing in these shoes without too much suffering. I do wish somebody would make some dancing shoes with some extra inside padding for older women like me. We are definitely a neglected market - a situation that surely will change now that the very active boomers have entered their 60s. I personally am definitely part of a neglected market: she of the 9-1/2 narrow foot. When I was young, I could find at least a few stylish shoes in my size. I could even find shoes that had narrower heel widths. Now I cannot even find any pair of flip-flops narrow enough to stay on.

Stable dance shoe - I have worn this style from Capezio for many, many years, so there were no surprises. I usually wear a medium width, but I need a wide in this style. This is a good shoe for the dancing I do: Hungarian, Scandinavian, and Contra. All three of these dance styles involve lots of turning; Scandinavian and Contra on the ball of the foot, and Hungarian on the heel. I need a very stable shoe with a reasonably low, square heel. Capezio’s used to have a shoe like the Jr. Footlight, but with a one inch heel that was not tapered at all. That shoe was even better for me. Unfortunately, they appear to have discontinued it. This heel will do.

Comfortable Right Out of the Box! I read the reviews and ordered one full size larger...sure enough, these customers were spot-on! Thanks for offering the opportunity to review. I didn't waste time with a return/re-order. I am not a dancer, but I do perform. I need shoes for rehearsal and these are, by far, the best shoes I've owned. They are comfortable for those long rehearsals when the director just so happens to want that one scene (the one where you really do have a dance routine) rehearsed for the 27th time! Standing, singing, walking, dancing, these are wonderful! I've never been aware of these shoes...a great sign in how comfortable the shoe really is!

Kismet - I had to stop wearing ballet shoes for belly dancing because of arch problems. These shoes are great! I bought the tan color and they blend away. The only problem was the leather on the bottom of the heel is attached with a large, single nail. That made it dangerous to wear on a vinyl or wooden dance surface. The shoe repair man fixed that easily with tan rubber. They are comfortable, pretty, and the heel is the right height for high arches and plantar fasciitis problems. I have "chubby toes" so I bought a nine wide instead of my usual 8 medium. They have great padding inside also. Buy these shoes!

Needs No Breaking-In - I had been trying to take dance lessons (Ballroom/Latin) in some high-heel dance shoes. I bought these shoes and they have been worth every penny! No breaking-in period was needed. They are so soft and the heel height is perfect. I now plan to order the same shoe in tan. They are definitely at least a half size smaller and narrower than they are marked. I ordered a wide size and was really glad I did. Plus, I ordered these on Zappos at about 5:30 one afternoon and they arrived on UPS the very next morning! How is that even possible?!?

Great shoes - I ordered these for a Christmas show I am doing. There is some light dancing and I needed a comfortable, low heeled character shoe. These are great. I would recommend maybe putting a gel pad in for the balls of the feet, but even after two hours onstage, the discomfort wasn't unbearable or anything. They look great, and are very comfortable. I have to say, I am ALWAYS a size ten, medium width shoe, but with these, I did follow advice and go a size up and order wide. I am so glad I did-they fit perfectly.

Good dancing shoe - I selected this shoe for dancing & it's the first pair of heels I've worn in years. The 7 1/2 was too big; the 7 was slightly tight on one foot, but being leather, is stretching. I usually wear 6 1/2 or 7. They are comfortable enough for hours of dancing. The arch support is fantastic. After wearing them for about 5 hours off of carpet, the soles are still slightly slippery. The exchange of the 2 sizes was easy and efficient.

Capezio's Leather Light Jr. Footlight - My only wish is that you would make sizes 4 & 1/2 and 5 in widths wider than a B (medium). Other than that, the shoes are well made and the 4 & 1/2, which is hard to get, seemed true to size. I took them to a shoemaker to stretch the width but they are still too tight. Please consider making these smaller sizes in wider widths for those of us with short but wider feet. Thank you.

Old is new again - I used to wear these shoes when I was younger, but had somehow forgotten about them. I teach middle school and am on my feet all day. These are stylish and comfortable. I love them. Now, I just wish they came in red. I wear a 7.5 - 8.0 and bought it in an 8.0.

Don't order your regular width!! I love Capezio's leather shoes, not for dancing, but for dress shoes. I have worn them for years. They do, however, run really narrow; pay attention to those who say to order wider than you usually wear! They are wonderfully comfortable and always look good. Zappos is a great place to order--always helpful and efficient.
