First of all, I live in Europe and it's not the area where Zappos ships to, but I have to say customer service was very helpful so I could easily organize getting 2 pairs to me and my brother, who is at the special forces in the army. I got the shoes within 10 days (from the date of order to EU!). Thanks a lot Zappos.com! GSG9.2 looks very nice, very comfortable. Inside it's soft sports shoes, outside military boots. I took part in a 3 days surviving contest and had no problems at all with climbing rocks, keeping my feet warm without getting wet and taking part a hill-up run contest (won it). Arch and ankle support is very good, sole is flexible enough, thus boots are really all-rounders. I can say only one word as my opinion: perfect! My brother is loading his pair heavily day by day at the army with trainings and GSG9.2 helped him a lot, his test results became much better as these boots are pretty light so all physical activities are easier this way. My experience after the surviving contest that 3 days in a forest in wet conditions require to use some kind of impregnation to improve dryness. Although the boots are marked as wet-proof, it is needed at the Gore-Tex areas. I would say it's wet proof 90-95%, but to have 100%; spray it! The only thing that needs to be kept in mind: Adidas makes narrow shoes. My feet are narrow so they are perfect for me, but anyone with a wider foot can feel them a bit tight.

This seems like a decent enough shoe/boot hybrid, but it feels narrower & shorter than other brands I've worn at the same size. I normally wear a 10.5 in most brands, which is what I ordered here. They initially just seemed a little tight from needing to be broken in, but once the leather softened up, I found that my forefoot, at the ball of of my foot, actually was sitting on top of the edges of the soles. So, if you tend to run a little wide at the front of your foot, be aware of this & order a half size up. Some thicker socks should make up for the extra room, as they seem to be smaller all around than other 10.5 sizes I've worn. After having them for around six months now, the tread on the soles is already losing some of the pattern. This is only wearing them around town, at work, & around the house. However, I'm six feet tall & 235 pounds, so that is probably a factor in the early wear.

I have worn boots like this for going on 30 years and I have to say this is the most comfortable pair I have ever worn. No break-in period like my other pairs; they were soft enough to walk all day in, but have the support and protection you'd look for in a boot. The tread pattern is very similar to the Adidas trail runners so they are very good in slick conditions and snow. I typically wear an exact 12 in Adidas and I ordered this size; they fit like a glove. The only thing I would add to these would be a pull loop on the top-back to help with pulling them on, but besides that I couldn't be more positive about them. Excellent. And price-wise they stack up against military boots that are much more expensive so they are an excellent value for the price. On top of this I received them in less than 24 hours from Zappos which is pretty amazing.

Pros: These boots are really great. They are very comfortable and light for how sturdy they feel. They are comfortable both tightly laced and completely untied and keep your foot warm in the winter. For a high laced boot, they are quick to get on and off. Also, as hiking-style boots go, they are surprisingly quiet. Most boots of this size have a heavy footfall, but the footbed on these is flexible and quiet. These boots are also quite comfortable over long periods. I?ve spent all day standing and walking in them and they are very comfortable, very tennis-shoe like. Con: The only thing that holds them back a bit is the all black styling. They aren?t ugly by any stretch, but with no contrast on the whole boot, they aren?t the best looking boot out there, they are unobtrusive and a little bland.

I had been wearing a pair of the original made-in-germany GSG9's for 5 years and I ordered these as a replacement/upgrade. The originals had two big problems: the sole wore down really fast and they were slippery on some wet surfaces. The 9.2 version don't suffer from either of those issues and they improve on the original with proper waterproofing, better ankle support and tougher materials and construction. The closest I can come to a negative comment is that like their predecessors they don't use speed-laces so they can be a bit slow to lace up in the morning. They are also quite warm, even in 20 degree weather I only needed a light pair of socks, so they are not ideal for hot environments but they're great for mud and snow and rain.

If you have a large narrow foot this is your boot. I wear a 14 B and good luck trying to find a boot that is not a D or fatter in this size. I guess "they" think that if you wear a 14 then your foot must be 14 wide also. These boots are very comfortable and flexible. I have had several foot chases for a few blocks and running in these boots is the same as your regular running shoes. Very comfortable. Running in "Magnums", forget it! Like trying to run with clown shoes on. The Adidas are great! Gave a 4 for style because of no zip side.

The boots are really cool. I'm 11.5, but Zappos only had size 11. The size 11 is a snug fit, but they work. The left boot makes my left ankle really sore if I've been walking around a lot, but I guess I'm still breaking them in. These boots are versatile because you can wear them seriously for field work and look professional, or you can wear them for style and have a rocker look to you. They're also perfect in the snow!

They fit like a Adidas running shoe, by far the most comfortable boot I have ever worn. They are actually more comfortable then most shoes I have worn. The sole is very soft, resulting in more grip then you will know what to do with. The boot does leave black streaks fairly easily though due to the sole being so soft. Best boot I've ever worn. Sizing is the same as Adidas shoes.

Great boots. Very light weight and sturdy. Although I own several pairs of similar type of boots these are different in that there is more arch support. True that the laces are slow to do up but I also don't fully undo them afterward. If they were waterproof that would make them ultimate but they are still great. For a great street and off-road boot this one is a prime candidate.
